The question is, since I have an M1 Garand and a very nice custom AR-10 is it wrong to also desire an M1A?

I think I'll probably stick to the <$2k price range. Does that mean I'll be limited to the Standard and Loaded models? After poking around a few old threads, I don't think I would be disappointed with a Loaded model. Unfortunately, I think a Scout or Socom might be a little out of my range. Well, surprise surprise, I just poked around and noticed a few black socom models for around $1700. That would be cool. Is that common?
I held one in the 1800GunsandAmmo store in Arlington a while back. Very nice, but not something you'd want to carry long distances!

I'd buy one if money was right, but after I had gotten every other firearm that's currently on my wish list.
