Well, I thought so too and so didn't carry. Normally passing by a 30.06 sign will catch my attention and I don't remember seeing one, but I wasn't specifically looking for one either. I did go and look today at their exclusion zones online and TDECU stadium wasn't listed as one. I'll have to check sometime soon. I was hoping that someone else had actually seen one though, so I would know for sure without making the drive to the campus.

Thanks!

Carrying at a Cougars game

I recently went to a University of Houston football game at TDECU stadium. I wasn't carrying because I was uncertain if it was off limits. In all of the commotion, I forgot to even look for 30.06 signs. So, first, do any of you know if it's posted? Second, I went to look at the University of Houston Police Department's FAQ about campus carry and found this:

Can I carry a concealed weapon at sporting events?
No, S.B. 11 and the Texas Penal Code prohibit a license holder from carrying a concealed weapon at any on campus sporting event.
Back to questions

Is this true? My understanding was that the recent change to the law specifically exempted college sporting events from the no-carry laws that are still in effect for professional and High School/Junior High sporting events. My assumption was that they would have to post the stadium as 30.06 if they wanted to exclude concealed carry at the game.

Any help in understanding would be appreciated.
