Re: Texas Illegal Knife Bill unanimously passes out of committee.
The "illegal" knife statutes, have been historically used to arrest people when there was no other legitimate charge. It could be anything from someone having a "switchblade" knife which was only prohibited, after the movie West Side Story came out, to having a steak knife, in y...

Sign on NASA property
Hello everyone, Can someone help me understand some of the Federal Laws about possession of a handgun on Federal Property. I found one section of the law that basically said you can get a fine and be incarcerated (or both) if you bring a handgun into a Federal Facility. Facility seemed to be defined...

Re: KHOU - New bill against carrying firearms while intoxicated
Is there any way to clearly tighten up the wording of the statutes so that having a glass of wine with dinner doesn't mean that you have to leave your handgun at home, but still doesn't allow people to carry while truly impaired? It already is the law. The standard for intoxication for carrying IS ...

Re: Carrying at a Cougars game
College games must be posted 30.06, high school is still statutorily posted. I have a pretty good feeling it will be posted though. Well, I thought so too and so didn't carry. Normally passing by a 30.06 sign will catch my attention and I don't remember seeing one, but I wasn't specifically looking...

Carrying at a Cougars game
I recently went to a University of Houston football game at TDECU stadium. I wasn't carrying because I was uncertain if it was off limits. In all of the commotion, I forgot to even look for 30.06 signs. So, first, do any of you know if it's posted? Second, I went to look at the University of Houston...

Re: Hunting Rifle + Scope = Assault Weapon
I showed my wife that video, and while she isn't exactly a gun person and might not have known all of the errors contained in that lady's statement, she knew enough to know that you couldn't buy the parts at the grocery store. And she also knew that a scope didn't make a rifle an assault weapon. She...

Little Foxx holster question
Hi, I just received a Little Foxx holster for my Kahr CM9. I have some concerns about the amount of the trigger guard that is uncovered. It seemed like the reviews and examples that I saw online had more of this area covered, but they were all examples of different handguns (Shield, etc.) So, is thi...

Re: TX: breaking- active shooter West Houston
Did I comprehend that correctly.. Now police are not sure if the second shooter was active in the attack or somehow otherwise involved Second 'guy' is no longer a suspect (Byron Wilson). Turns out he was a 'Good Samaritan' trying to stop the incident. He was shot by 'Garza' the lone shooter. So far...

Re: Parking Lot Postings
Ok, so to bring this back to the real world... I believe that the consensus is that posting at the entrance to the premise makes the parking lot off limits, technically. So, today, I was at a strip center. There is a credit union in that center that is posted 30.06 and 30.07 on the glass doors at th...

Re: Parking Lot Postings
I'd like to know where all these posted giant parking lots with multiple businesses are located, or is this just some kind of a hypothetical at this point? I've become a "hick in the sticks", and I don't get to the big city much anymore, so it sure would be nice to know. This was mostly a...
