Re: "Waiting Room"
It's been pretty quiet in here the last week or so...what's everyone up to?
What have you been doing to keep your mind off of waiting for your LTC?
I put an 80cc motor on my bike and have been playing around with motorized bicycles since I applied to keep my occupied...But I started thinking about it again when I went to the range to sight in my new 9mm single-stack Glock...
Your turn now!

Re: "Waiting Room"
So Apparently, according to this article...the DPS is working 7 days per week including overtime...however the applications are starting to dwindle...which is good for them and good for us, but not necessarily good for Texas.... anyway, seemed related thought y'all might like it...

Re: "Waiting Room"
Hello Everyone!
I've been reading the waiting room even before I replied... I won't have PIH for a while, but I figured I'd post my timeline anyway...
Class Taken: 2/13
Range Test: 4/20
Application: 4/20
Fingerprints: 4/27
Phone Call to Confirm Receipt: 4/29 (they acknowledge my timer started on 4/20)
Website Change: ??Probably Never??
PIH: Tombstone: "Still Waiting"
I'm up in Dallas. I'm just here for shits and giggles, I don't really care how long it takes. I had my CHL in Louisiana before I moved here 3 years ago and it only took 3 weeks in Lafayette. My biggest frustration with the process in TX is the lack of transparency. If they were smart, they'd save a crap-ton of time by keeping an accurate status online (i.e. Application Received, Fingerprints Received, Application in Progress, Pending Background Check, Sent to Print, Shipped) they would reduce calls, and it would certainly be more efficient...however I'm a DevOps engineer. My job is to automate processes....
Anyway, I'm getting long winded. Good to be here.
