I think OP is a hero to both the girl and disturbed individual. The confidence and presence of mind to re-holster and go non-lethal in the face of what I would have considered an imminent threat to my well being really amazes me. Had I been in that situation I think I can say I would have 100% shot the man, ruining his life and mine and perhaps even the girlfriend's. I'm a new license holder and this really drives home the idea that I really don't want to have to pull my gun on anyone ever. I simply don't have the physical skills to deal with an aggressor who keeps coming as this person did to OP and would be left with no option other than to shoot or run.
