Re: Police: Tempe resident shoots robber, faces charges
Well - if I was on the jury, i would vote not guilty (even if he did break the law), based on the limited facts presented in the article. Hopefully he'll get at least one person that agrees with me on his jury.

In Texas, is carrying a concealed handgun with an expired license the same charge as carrying a concealed handgun with no license issued?

Re: Close call with bangers this AM. (Wreck)
Oh, I was telling 911 all about the fight and the knife. Did not help the response time one bit. The first responder told me the dispatcher had incorrectly advised the units I was being attacked rather than the bangers mixing it up. I would have been long dead had that been the case. First responde...

Re: Police taser boy with broken back 19 times
I thought the standard training was to get an uncooperative or potentially dangerous person prone. That is the safest way to handcuff. Telling an uncooperative person to stand up is beyond my comprehension. They're not going to be standing after you tase them anyway.

Re: Utah license changes in the future?
The states all send the info to the FBI, which UT can check easily. Probably not updated as frequently, but if their checking daily, it doesn't matter.

Re: Utah license changes in the future?
According to that article, Utah residents and instructors are checked daily for criminal records. Does that sound like overkill to anyone? Also, why can't they check out-of state license holders in this manner?

I did a quick google search and there have been studies on the temps at which ammo will explode. (High 270's and up). It won't get that hot in your car under normal circs.

Re: Utah CFP Class in Austin Area
I have a dumb question... Why would people in Texas interested in the CFP for Utah? Are there any special privileges granted to a holder of the Utah CFP? :confused5 **I think I found it: The Utah permit adds Washington, Ohio, Nevada, and Minnesota to the reciprocal states you have with your Texas C...

I am 100% pro law enforcement, but this is just an embarrassment. I don't think they should be prosecuted because it was probably done out of ignorance, but they should all be disciplined, especially the sergeants who let it happen.

Yep, I bet there's a MEMO already in the works to be Faxed to all Stores to make CHL's off-Limits. But, will have to wait and see. Watch the store windows. Hopefully not. I honestly doubt it though. Walmart is not stupid. Currently they have no liability regarding a CHL'er doing something stupid, a...

Dear Chief. Boy did I hose one up today... A funny thing happened on my way to serve a warrant outside our jurisdiction, no the other agency was not present.. Geez IAD will have a field day with this one. Not to hijack the thread or anything, but why do the officers need the other agency present fo...

Even a security guard would be stupid to force a search. Once they decline, you document the facts, refuse them entry and report it to their supervisor.WildBill wrote:This is a question for any LEOs out there. If you were hired as security and the person refused the search what would you do?

Re: Employer says "NO!" to guns in cars.
My employer has also hired uniformed county deputies with every intention of doing searches of employee property such as lockers, autos, and lunch boxes. Uniformed deputies, even if working privately for your employer, won't be doing any such searches without your consent. Even when they're working...
