I do believe they are working as hard as they can considering they are understaffed for the influx of applications that they have received. I'm only venting that there has to be a better process in which they can work. This is the 3rd license I've gone through with the state and I'm used to waiting. If anything, I think waiting on a the LTC is a good thing. I'm glad I've had the time I have to research and go to the range to practice. There has to be a better process than this. All 3 times, I've had the same "Status update." Pending/approved, that's pretty much the extent of it. With all the technology we have at our disposal there should be something better than that. That's the only thing I'm trying to get at. I know your comment wasn't a personal attack, but I do know that they are bombarded with apps. We are all lucky to get them when we do. But with the 137k apps they did receive at $140 a pop. There has to be improvements with DPS/RSD.twomillenium wrote:Do you whiners actually think they are playing cards or working 3 hr days?? There has been over a 200% increase in applications compared to this time last year and last year was a banner year. Patience, it will get here when it does and it won't be because they aren't working on it. Generally, people that think that others are goofing off, without knowing those people, are those who probably goofed off their whole life at someone else's expense. Last thing we need is a bunch of impatient LTCer's, hope they get weeded out.

IF it was only that easyrexmitchell wrote:Long time lurker, new member. In regards to the slowness of getting applications out, here is my biggest problem with all this. If you owe the government money, or have a court date for a ticket and don't meet that deadline, they will confiscate your stuff or throw you in jail for missing that deadline. They miss a deadline that is mandated by law and there is no repercussion. I suggest that anyone over the 60 days promised by law should be entitled to a refund of the application fees, I guarantee you the process would magically speed up if they started losing that funding for each application they dropped the ball on.

I completely agree we do need to do something about that in the upcoming session. It's ridiculous at how this process is handled and they need additional funding.domobro wrote: I asked my State Rep this same question, I was informed there are no consequences to them failing to follow the statute. However, his office did state that this may be something that needs to be addressed in the upcoming session. I live in District 115 and have the Most Conservative State Rep according to Texas Tech, Matt Rinaldi. I am hopeful that he will address these concerns that we all have. It may not fix it for the people presently waiting, but it will fix it for the future and should make renewals easier.

Re: In Process.....
unfortunately there is nothing we can do other than fight for them to have more funding to add more people to the list. Calling RSD doesn't help because you will always get the same bogus answer and calling your state reps only stops them from working on other appsdmthegreat2001 wrote:Exactly! But by law, they have up to 60 days to either issue a new license or request more time.
