Applications Check?
I just renewed my "Texas Emergency Communications Services" card in Austin. Another enity supervised by DPS. While there I asked about the pre-screening on CHL application packages, and yes they do a Wants and Warrents check (state-wide). It was explained to me that at that point in the ap...

Thanks for catching that. No, the DPS Officer said "unlicensed carrier of a firearm".

New to the Forum, but an opinion anyway.
The sitting through a 8 hour class can SUCK this is fact. But, to post a test on the Web is scary also. Just because a person has a "clean" record to aquire a CHL means little when alot of these people should be wearing football helments, mitts and riding the little bus to get to the class...

Clarification
My comment about "retention of CHL reg's and laws", simply meant I'm kinda slow on the uptake. I don't think I'm a dense person, but all these rules and regulations pretaining to "Concealed & Carry" is very confusing to me. I'm very reluctant to this date about carrying my we...

Hot topic
I think this topic may grow to be a much discussed one. Just last nite in a North Texas hospital where I am a ER nurse, I saw the first (hit) on this new law. The County Police brought in a gentleman for a Blood Tox Test (illegal substance). He was there because of being in a parking lot talking wit...

Welcome, and a question?
I had an old (12 years) arrest in Richmond, Va. I thought I needed to put on my Texas CHL application. Turns out I didn't, but the nightmare that ensued trying to get a copy of that disposition from Va. was a learning experiance. I found that most States and CommonWealths get rid of ALL misdemeanor ...

Beretta?
Being new to this group, I hope I posted this in the right area. When I first received my CHL I puchased a Beretta 6.35 cal pistol. Not knowing a whole lot about gun prices I thought it this was a good deal ($100). It is way small enought to slip into my back pocket without a give away outline. Anyw...

Keeping your CHL at all times?
I'm new to the forum and have only had a CHL for 4 years. I do not carry very often, but only because of low confidence in retention of the laws. Anyway, I always carry my CHL just like my DL. Do most of you only carry your CHL when armed?

New to the group.
Good day all. I've been reading your postings for a while now and decided to join in. I have had my CHL for about 4 years now, but reluctant to carry anymore than I just have to. After reading what ya'll have to say about the subject I am starting to feel a little more confident. I'm 48, a nurse and...
