Finally got my plastic! I have no idea why it took so long to get to me as I only live 3 hours away from Austin and I do not live in a rural area...I'm outta here

I called DPS today and all they could tell me is that it was shown to be sent to me 3/30/16 and that I have to wait 7-10 business days to receive my license in the mail. If I don't have it after that, I have to wait until 30 days from the issue date to request a replacement.

Unless you live so rural that get your mail via carrier pigeon, this would concern me. I'd call to make sure it was actually sent and then follow up with the postal service. That seems like a really long time between status change and plastic. Most of the time it's 1-3 days, occasionally for, but 7-8 is in the "troublesome" range for me.

I called to check the status and I was told it could take up to 14 days...

I agree. I figured I would have it within 3 days as I do not live in a rural area. I live in Fort Worth so it shouldn't take much time to arrive here from Austin. I am going to call them today.

"Good news! I just spoke with the department that processes CHL applications and yours is currently being reviewed. Give them 7 to 10 business days for completion. They will be contacting you, if they haven't already, to confirm the status."

...still haven't heard anything
