In the meantime I may consider applying for a license in a different state who has an agreement with Texas. I was in a forum yesterday and people were talking about how it's $25-75 for an LTC in a bunch of other states, no mandatory class, and it took less than 2-3 weeks to get approved. I, too, think anything beyond 30 days is excessive.
I can only assume that my application was approved and printed in 50 days because of previous security clearances.
It's the state bureaucracy, there is no formula that I can see.
