Exactly. If it's canted, the sights aren't level & plumb.
For a long-range shooter who might be holding over, the vertical crosshair not being truly vertical can introduce significant windage error.

Very useful. They're used by benchrest and long-rang competitive shooters to avoid canting the rifle. There are some scopes with built-in levels.Jacob Staff wrote:Great looking rifles.
