Never use an apostrophe to pluralize a word. Ever. It's never right.
The downside of playing grammar Nazi, is that you will invariably forget to dot your i's and cross your t's.

And yes, that is the correct usage of an apostrophe to create a plural. ;-)

My wife refuses to pay good money to the state of Texas to exercise a right. She doesn't carry now, but swears she will get her $10 Revolver & Pistol License when we move to New Hampshire, and will carry regularly. And will make sure our daughter does likewise (she'll be 19 or 20 at the time, depending on when we make the move).

It's fun to be married to a lady who is even more libertarian/anarcho-capitalist than I am.

I think it's a great policy to allow people to "audit" the class for free.

If I were an instructor I would allow it, with the condition that they not ask questions during class (that time is for paying customers). But otherwise, it would cost nothing extra for someone to sit through the class, space permitting, since they're not getting a packet or certificate or range time.

And at the end of the classroom portion, they might decide to pony up the money for the proficiency test and certificate, so they can get their CHL!

Re: Some Problems

An NCIC check is just as quick to run as NICS, so that's not a barrier.

I'm curious what background check DPS does other than NCIC. Anyone know?

Yes, I don't object to the class nearly as much as I object to the fees. It should cost no more than a driver's license, and should be processed at your local DPS office, with a temporary license given on the spot.
