It's likely they did say that -- it's CNN. Them saying it doesn't make it true, and it doesn't seem to be supported by the photos and and witness accounts.

Apparently not, since the only person she would be "alarming" was the reporter, and he never saw the gun. Only because of news crews with telephoto lenses, did he even know the gun existed.

I had to laugh at the Euros who opined that the homeowner was acting "just like Bush" with a "shoot first" mentality.

They have it exactly backwards. It was the journalist who was behaving like the Bush foreign policy: going onto someone else's land as if he had every right to be there.

No shots fired. No pistol displayed. No threats issued. The journo didn't even know there was a gun until his colleagues told him about it.
