Re: My new Ishapore Enfield 2A rebuild
Yes, I butchered them and cut them down to 17" and 18" . Then I "customized" the stocks, and glass bedded them. Hey, I absolutely support the right of anyone to do as he wishes with his own guns, but I do like to inform people about the options. In this case, the option would ha...

I started to say that my Scottish ancestors had sufficiently renounced Britain when they left in 1725, but then I realized that the Scottish Parliament has been even worse than England.bdickens wrote:I hereby renounce my English ancestry.

Re: Open Carry
I would support a "long gun OC" picnic where a bunch of people get together, but one guy walking around with a rifle evokes images of situations Texas has not seen since Charles Whitman, and we do not want the people and/or Legislature to be reminded of these situations when we're trying ...

The cure for a bad trigger is always "front sight - front sight - front sight- front sight .... bang!"
Trouble is, with a bad trigger, it can be a loooooong time before the "bang", during which time circumstances and target might change.

Paragraphs are your friend.
Sorry, but I could not read that at all without going cross-eyed.

My Polish M44 (Radon '53) is amazingly accurate for such a short, light, full-power gun. It has the best trigger I've ever felt on a milsurp gun. The Poles are generally considered the best of the breed.Vic303 wrote:Surprisingly, the Hungarian M44's can be pretty accurate too, if you extend the bayo first.

Re: The NRA.....lets talk!
I've heard so many times over the years that "NRA was already working on that, we just had to keep it quiet!" that I frankly don't believe it any more. And frankly, I no longer care who feels insulted when I state my doubts. After a while, it starts to sound like the Russians claiming they...

Re: Should the law be changed?
I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who was misinformed on the whole drink and carry subject. It's a common misunderstanding. There are a lot of instructors teaching this incorrectly, and a lot of students misunderstanding instruction that is perhaps too subtly nuanced. "Guns and a...

Re: Salvation Army will fire officer for marrying outside...
Officers of the Salvation Army are pastors. I don't know of any evangelical congregation that would tolerate a pastor marrying outside the faith. (By that, I don't mean just another denomination, but a significant departure such as Jewish, Islamic, Unitarian, etc.) But what doesn't really get menti...

...and it comes with the original leather sling and bayonet with scabbard. The receiver is stamped "1944" and serial number is BO 188XX. The original sling would be canvas, not leather. Maltby produced the most of any British factory, and 1944 was their biggest year, so you won't get any ...

This one's on dogs too, but a different take on them. I hate to see folks tote their dogs on the freeway in the bed of the truck. Everytime I see a poor pooch carcass on the road, I just think about the poor brokenhearted tots at home whenever the news is broken to them "well I had to slam on ...
