Okay, y'all. Here's the breakdown.
12/20 - CHL Class
12/20 - DPS Confirmation
1/4 - Fingerprinted
1/4/8 - RSD confirmed they received everything one of these two days (depended on who I talked to)
3/21 - Called DPS (over the head of RSD), was told it'd been another 7-14 days, but probably more in the 7 range.
3/25 - Email saying my license had been printed and mailed!!
3/30 - Still no license or change, called DPS number again, was told it was just sent to print on that day, it should now be on its way.
3/31 - STATUS CHANGE!!
Plastic should be here in the next day or two since I'm in San Marcos.
Good luck y'all! My seat is about to be free!

Re: 2016 Application Watch - post your 2016 timelines here
Alright, just got a call back. My license was approved and SENT TO PRINT on 3/24. It is now officially on its way to me. She said I should see the website change within 48 hours, but because the campus is so big there in Austin, it takes a while once it's been printed to get out of the building and to the post office, thus the 7-10 business days. She kinda hinted it'd be less, but I should see it and the status change soon. Should be one MAYBE two days for it to show up in my mailbox.Slydragon wrote:Same here, got that email with same date buy no plastic and no website change, following your post closely.doombuggy110 wrote:Another day, still no status change, still no plastic. I got some mail from Kentucky and from NJ that was sent out Friday and Monday before I've gotten the supposed plastic coming from San Antonio or Austin (I'm in between both in San Marcos)... I seriously doubt that my license was actually issued at this point.
EDIT: I called that DPS number and got a manager within the RSD who is looking into it. She said that was very strange and that I should have received it Saturday or Monday unless the email was a mistake. Oh joy.
Best of luck to you! Hopefully we'll be freeing up some spots in the Waiting Room soon!

They don't mail out of Austin believe it or not. They ship them to a company in San Antonio to be mailed out.[/quote]Bayoutalker wrote:

Ah, still 45 minute drive! I'm smack in the middle. I'll continue to wait. Not much I can do either way. Appreciate it!

Re: 2016 Application Watch - post your 2016 timelines here
So I got that strange reply email saying my card was printed and mailed as of 3/25. I'm 45 minutes from Austin, usually mail up there is one day. Still nothing as of today. But our post office is a joke. No status change, no plastic as of 3/28... Hoping for tomorrow. Anyone else in a similar boat with the status not changing? I've lost all trust in what they say, so no plastic after three mail days coming from so close and no status change makes me highly suspicious...
I was all in around 1/6-8. Best of luck to all y'all still waiting and congratulations to those of you who have gotten yours!

GUYS! The most bizarre thing just came my way. I got an EMAIL from RSD replying to an old email I sent asking for an update. However, the upside is that it said that my license was printed and mailed yesterday!
CHL Class - 12/20 (or so)
Fingerprints 1/6/16
Confirmation 1/6 or 1/8 (I got two answers from them)
Contacted a Rep - 3/18
Email saying it's been printed and sent - 3/25/15
Website Change - N/A
Plastic in Hand - N/A

In theory, I'm only a few days behind you! Hahahaha, if only that department worked as it's supposed to.

Re: 2016 Application Watch - post your 2016 timelines here
I just realized I'm actually pretty close to the 60 business day limit! I'm right at the low 70s and at the end of the week I'll be at 60 business days! So I emailed my representative who called the next morning saying they'd look into it. Got an email back saying that they have their contact at the DPS office looking into it and I'll receive a call soon from them and they'll follow up. Did that last Friday. I was all in either 1/6 or 1/8 - I'm still unclear.
So today I called that number someone posted above and was transferred to someone, got a voicemail and left a nice voicemail. About an hour later, a very nice lady answered the phone, asked for my DL and then put me on hold for about 5 minutes. She came back and said that I AM in the queue to be processed in the next 7-14 days, but it should be closer to 7. She gave me her direct number and said to call back whenever I'd like to check back or if there's anything I need. Suggested I call back in two weeks for sure and I was welcome to call at the end of this week.
It could be this week or next! We'll see.
I suspect that by the time we hear about the little work arounds like representatives and that number, we all jump on it and bog those down a bit. But hey, if it's still taking some off of the RSD's hands, then maybe it's for the best! Sharing the load.
But I did my checking to make it feel like I'm not just hopelessly waiting for the week. Now back to patiently trying to forget about it!

Re: 2016 Application Watch - post your 2016 timelines here
I called and got the nice lady! Not terrifically helpful, but she was nice. Checked my application, said that it seemed like I had everything, said that I should call back after 60 days have passed and they'll send a letter if anything is missing, but no comment on what they're on or anything. So I'm going to assume that they haven't gotten to January.
Mine is January 6th, they received everything on January 6/9 (wasn't terribly clear from what she said), and that's it. I'd been counting all days instead of business days. So I'll be less hopeful when I see 60 days, since it'll be far less DPS days... At 55 days but it's really 39. Makes it sting a little less... Sorta?... End of the month. I'll shoot for end of the month.

Re: 2016 Application Watch - post your 2016 timelines here
Don't get my hopes up! : P I called a few times yesterday. I got one "The wait is 57 minutes, you can get a call back or wait". I accidentally missed hitting 1 and wound up waiting for a bit before hanging up. I got two of the lady that gives the big speech about stuff under 30 days being a waste of their time, basically. Both times I accidentally hung up while I stayed on for the wait. I'm an idiot. I may try to get in today again, but I'm worried about getting the angry folks that just tell me to wait.Mavs00 wrote:Mavs00 wrote:

That's crazy! I may just need to call... Everything of mine was submitted Jan. 6 (or 8, I can't recall), and I haven't heard or seen anything. Shiny record, previous background checks for work, but no change and no plastic. Hope you're one of the lucky January folks!Mavs00 wrote:Interesting. I just called RSD (only waited about 10 minutes on hold). A nice lady came on and was very helpful. She looked up my application and indicated that everything had come back and that it was in the final approval stage and that it should be approved within 72 hours.
