I have played the "innocent" one a few times. THATS WHAT HR is for! let them deal with it and dont throw anyones name under the buss, FYI.

I have had to do this a few times in the restaurant business. "Terminated for no show, no call" if she missed a shift and didnt get it covered. Ir just tell her that she is not a good "fit". You dont even really need a reason being in Texas.
Under a week of employment, you won't even be questioned. Don't worry about it.
