I'm a lefty and use a right handed spikes tactical rifle. I have never noticed the brass. It hits the deflector and flies off to the side from what it looks like on the ground.

I put in a dual side safety lever, ambi charging handle, and the type of mag release linked below. I am probably 50/50 on usage of the right and left side releases.

Only left handed gun I own is a .308 savage bolt action
