Well i do have a lot of respect for all animals more than some humans , the previous weekend i shot a copperhead and the shot shells went though the plastic under pinning and hit a real nice grass snake and that really made me sick and i felt real bad about that .

It was very calm snake he was more interested in getting away than in me and only stuck at me twice because i had a shovel in its face , the few cotton mouths i have been in contact with where totally different they was coming at me fast

After looking around at a lot of pics to convince my wife that it was not a bad one i think your friend is spot on or the other one i saw was a brown water snake . I have killed a cotton mouth in my back yard before so that is the main reason i was a little on the fence , i for to mention that my neighbor has a tank literally right behind is house and there is also a creek running threw my land that holds water almost year around so there could easily be one.

Well i killed two copperheads weekend before last and there was a big old grass snake that i didn't know under the sheets of old underpinning and it went threw and it him so i had to kill him and that made me mad at myself so i don't like killing something that is good to have a round . After looking around some at different pics i really think it is a water snake so i am not concerned about it being venomous. Thanks for all the input .
