Very similar process for XDs. You gotta pull the trigger to remove the slide. So, even though I don't like Glocks particularly, I can't hold this "feature" against them.

I have to remove the barrel bushing on my 1911 to remove the slide and this forces me to put my hand over the muzzle; I don't have a problem with this either, but I ALWAYS double check the loaded status of my pistols before cleaning them.

Your AMT 380 would go nicely with my Bersa 380. I use it as a backup gun just in case I loose my wheel chocks. Shoots well (once) then the decocking lever wants to un-lock and start backing out of the slide. After two shots, it has backed out half way and hangs on the hammer preventing return to battery. Nice feel in the hand but not nice feeling when you need to depend on your CCW. No more Bersa's for me.
