Re: "Waiting Room"
My all in date was 1/6. After an hour of being on hold, I was able to speak with a rep at DPS and was told I'm just now in the background stage and waiting for approval or a request for more info. However, I was told two weeks ago by someone else that I was already approved and it was about to be pr...

Re: "Waiting Room"
I spoke to the Texas Public Safety Commission office today and it was by far the quickest and most clear response I've had so far. The entire phone call lasted 2 minutes max. My all in date is 1/6. I was told that my application is already through background check and will be sent to printing in the...

Re: Arrested for Window Tint...Include disposition?
A bit off topic, but useful for the thread. Get a letter from your eye doctor, apply for a tint waiver and then you can tint anything but your front window as dark as you like it. https://www.txdps.state.tx.us/rsd/vi/consumerinfo/windowTint.htm A couple of benefits: - Reduced eye strain. - Everythi...

Re: Arrested for Window Tint...Include disposition?
Sorry I hate to beat a dead horse, but did the officer have a light meter to check your window tint? It must allow at least 35 percent of the light in on the front passenger and driver's windows. It can be darker on the back doors and rear window if you have exterior rear view mirrors. We never eve...

Re: Arrested for Window Tint...Include disposition?
Thanks! You're not missing anything. I can't make this up. He told me the reason I was being arrested was because my truck was unsafe to drive and put other people at risk. So he arrested me and impounded my truck. It costed more to get my truck out of the impound lot than it did to bail myself out...

Thanks for the advice everyone. I guess I'll just wait to see if they request anymore information.

Re: Arrested for Window Tint...Include disposition?
So, LEO makes contact with you because of your tint. You comply and are cooperative. LEO places you under arrest? What am I missing? Welcome to the Forum! Thanks! You're not missing anything. I can't make this up. He told me the reason I was being arrested was because my truck was unsafe to drive a...

Re: Arrested for Window Tint...Include disposition?
Search incident to arrest. Did the LEOs ask to search and you declined? I was completely cooperative. I was in college at the time and on my way home from class in the middle of the day when it happened. I let him search to his heart's content. No resisting at all. The worst thing I said was "...

Re: Arrested for Window Tint...Include disposition?
Welcome to the forum. Did they just take you in and make you pay a fine? or did you actually get fingerprinted and photographed? If the later, then yes, you need to list the arrest and get a copy of the disposition showing it was resolved. If you just went in and paid a fine, then you shouldn't hav...

Arrested for Window Tint...Include disposition?
As the subject states, I was arrested in 2012 and my charge (as it states on the county record search) was "Excessive Window tint", which is obviously a Class C Misdemeanor. I wish I was making this up. I reported this arrest on my application that I submitted on the 6th (all other docs/fe...
