Just kidding, there could be a myriad of reasons yours is taking longer, like if you lived in a State, that is not as gun friendly, and they are dragging their feet getting info to the DPS, your fingerprints, may not be as readable as they should, be, or your name is similar to a real scallywag, and they are just verifying the fingerprints. Don't worry too much, they also don't always update, the site, in a timely manner. We have had some who got their plastic, before their list showed print pending. In the mean time stay close by your wife, so she can protect you for a little while. I have no evidence to back this up, but I think, it may take longer sometimes, if you have had security clearances, that have expired, because they have to validate, that your clearances weren't taken away for nefarious reasons. Also various agencies respond at different rates of speed to requests. If you have moved from another state, for example, they have to check with them, and some states, are not particularly, inclined to respond, to a Texas request for a LTC. JMHO

It seems the people that submitted their information online vs. sending in the mail are the ones receiving their LTC quicker. Correct me if I am wrong. I am not sure why it's taking so long for me. I have had a FBI background check done for my current employer, and I have passed the background check to purchase. I actually purchased my firearm in June.

There is obviously something not right. You need to be phone the phone with them finding out what is going on behind the scenes with your application cause that's far far outside the norm.
Needless to say i was surprised to see people getting theirs within a couple weeks, month, and months...
i did call my state rep and they were very helpful. i found out there was some error in them getting back to me, but my application was denied due to a ticket i got in 2012. so, thats that apparently.

What they do for a LTC is a cursory review of databases and a few mail outs. That's it ladies and gentlemen.

Got off voluntary extended active duty in Dec 2007 and transferred peace officer license to TX
Recalled again in 2012 and sent to Iraq again.
Now medically retired from USAF and Texas retired peace officer as if 2013. Had license voluntarily suspended while gone so that I wouldn't have to do my required state mandates training hours while deployed.
Now back full time with my normal civilian job at USAA and love it. Wife works here too which is kind of odd sometimes. Lol.
