Too bad they cant help the Cowboys....zencurry wrote:Ok, clock struck 7:00 am and I hit the dial button. 15 minutes later I was speaking with Tonya and I got the same answer we have all been hearing for some time now. They are still buried under a backlog.
Tonya did say that it was taking them about 12 weeks to process an application--I know this doesn't help.
All that I can say is that I have waited 32 years to get my first Harley (still don't have it yet, I just have the go ahead from the wife (CFO/CEO) for purchase), so, as long as the plastic comes in before the 32 year mark, I should be good.
P.S.
I was wearing my super lucky Dallas Cowboys pajamas when I made this call--if they can't break the spell, then this is some kind of uber-bad-juju. Really, these pajamas prevented the worldwide computer melt down in 2000.

Re: "Waiting Room"
I read that just this morning. As I mentioned, I have no problem whatsoever waiting. I don't have a problem with people getting approved who are a few days to a week after me being approved.
I do have a problem with people a month after me being approved and the only answer I can get is "oh you're way too early". If they were able to provide any kind of legitimate explanation as to why this is the case then I'd buy it. As it stands now the phone number to contact for "more info" doesn't really give you more info.

Re: "Waiting Room"
The frustration lies in the fact that there are people who have been approved with submission dates a month after mine and others, not with the wait itself.16Adams wrote:According to the timeanddate.com website today is the 41st "business day" in 2016.
A whole lotta frustration on some members of this site would be alleviated if you went by business days from the date all correct items have been submitted to RSD.
Then, don't forget if needed there is an up to 180 day provision too.
Personally, with everything the RSD is required to check on each individual applicant I think they are doing a great job in an historically high application period.
Personally, if there was any semblance of order or common sense to the process, I think a lot of the frustration would be lessened. There is literally nothing to find in my BG check and here I wait... As others have mentioned, we paid for a service. There is no accountability to be had once our payment is made.

Re: "Waiting Room"
I've called 3 times:
The first time, on Day 52 Darrell said I was calling "Wayyyyy too early"
The second time, on Day 60, a woman who's name I didn't get told me, "just wait longer"
The third time, on Day 67, the same woman(I think) said that they had everything and to "wait longer"
I mentioned people with submission dates well after mine already being approved and she couldn't have cared less. Some have mentioned being told where they were at in the process, bg check, etc... but no one I've spoken to was any help at all in any way. Aside from being told that they had all my documents I've learned nothing by calling. There is literally 0 on my record that would cause any type of delay.

I get that "it used to take a lot longer" and "they're really swamped" but for the love of God why wouldn't it be First Come First Served? I'm ok with waiting however long as long as people who came 3 weeks after me aren't bumped to the front of the line. I have no problem seeing those who submit before me be approved but I'm sick and tired of seeing people get approved who submitted in mid-january.

Same here. I was told that they received everything on 12/22 which was when I submitted. The confirmation email came on 12/28.Gnamaree02 wrote:Well that's funny because I was told my clock started running on 1/11 when my CHL100 was submitted electronically. She told me the time starts with the very last thing submitted. That was my fingerprints. She said so it hasn't been the 9 weeks and 4 days you claim. I said ok but it is still over 8 weeks. LoL. Conversation really didn't accomplish anything other than an intellitual joust.

Re: "Waiting Room"
Just called for the second time. Spoke with a woman this time who put me on hold for a few minutes, came back and said that they received all my info on 12/22 and that the process takes 6-8 weeks and that due to volume was currently taking longer. Her advice was "just wait longer".... well no kidding...

Held out as long as I could but finally broke down and called. "Darrell" told me I was calling way too early. Yet people after me have already received plastic???? Never had more than a traffic ticket and the last one of those was 10+ years ago.... I don't get it.

Re: "Waiting Room"
How do you go about requesting a call back? I broke down a couple times and called but only got a recording that they were too busy and then was disconnected.
