I am not sure but I think I remember reading once that being stopped for excessive speeding over the speed limit could also be a criminal offense in Texas. All moving violations in Texas are criminal offenses. Class C misdemeanors. Reckless driving in Texas can get you a class B misdemeanor charge....

After looking up Proposition 63, I think it only applies to California residents because, they are now required to get a permit from the California DOJ to buy ammo and submit to a background check. I'm not sure how this affects non residents of California while traveling or visiting the state.
