I was doing a bit of research on this topic, and came across Shipmygun.com, which is a service owned by Bud's Gun Shop. Reviews seem to be good, and the cost is definitely reasonable. $39 + optional insurance at 1% of insured value. For some reason, when I do a mock shipment, the cost is less, though. Right around $20.

I believe you can ship via both UPS and Fed Ex, just not USPS. I also believe that you are required by law to inform the shipper that you are shipping a handgun. Both UPS and Fed Ex prefer (per their policies) for this notice to be given to the clerk when you make the shipment, but you may want to send an e-mail to their corporate office instead so you have a copy of it.rotor wrote:What service? UPS and Fed Ex also have policies stating that you musty ship handguns via their more expensive shipment options, and you are probably looking at $50 plus if you actually use one of those options (you won't have much choice if you notify the clerk as opposed to sending an e-mail).
