I have fairly high standards for reliability. I won't carry a gun that fails to go bang more than once every 200 to 300 rounds. But I also don't own a gun that has never failed me even once. Of course that is usually a rack, bang, fix. Sometimes a drop mag, rack, load new mag, bang, fix. But even my G19 has completely locked up on me once. Knowing my luck that once would happen again when I most needed it.LucasMcCain wrote:I answered "no" because I don't carry one on my person most of the time. I do carry a spare mag or two, but my primary gun has never failed on me, and any problem I can't solve with 32-49 rounds isn't likely to be solved with a few more. Still, I see no problem with doing so if you feel so inclined, and I have on occasion.
I also envision corner case scenarios where I am disarmed, and would like to have a backup. Maybe too many movies where the bad guy says "drop your gun or I'll shoot the kid."
