This is a good decision, but I agree with the article that the part about where the tax funds go is concerning as it seems to imply that a tax specifically on guns and ammo would be constitutional if the tax funds were ear marked to cover the costs of "gun violence" whatever that means.

If the justices want to go down this path, then that would make a ballot tax constitutional as long as the funds raised were ear marked to cover the costs of "election integrity", or a Social media access tax would be constitutional as long as the funds paid for government programs to mitigate hurt feelings.
