So the trimmed end and not the tongue end? Above OP confirms it is the non-trim end that will no longer pass through the buckle not the trimmed end that will not stay clamped/engaged.

I was going to order a gun belt on Amazon but not seeing the gun belt for sale on Amazon. Am I doing it wrong?

That is you trimmed the end opposite the tongue end, per the instructions, but the tongue end is the one that is delaminating, correct?

Further, your contention is; even if you were using your non-gunbelt belt to secure your holster, the tongue end (which is under no load or strain once the belt is cinched) should not delaminate under any circumstances. Using a non-gunbelt belt might reasonably be expected to cause problems somewhere else on the belt but not at the tip of the tongue. Is that more or less it?
