Re: Texas State IDPA Championship September 4, 2011

I thought this was a great match with some of the best, most varied, and challenging stages I've seen. (I helped out on a stage, but I'm not from Houston so not biased about the match!) I had fun, and like some others said, would have had more fun had I shot better. And I do not like the large grave...

Are there still open slots?
There is still plenty of room... but don't wait too long.

Re: Thinking about joing IDPA

That sounds like a lot of fun. Is there anything like this in the DFW area? Collin County IDPA is a big IDPA club with one or more matches each week near Greenville. Very welcoming to new shooters. Match Schedule, locations, and more info on the site. (Scroll Down to Match Schedule) Lots of good in...

Re: Is IDPA what I want to do?

Are there any of the classes in the DFW area ? That is what I have been looking for. Lots of good places for IDPA and classes in DFW area. A good website for the area is Collin County IDPA. Good info and a link on the left under General Interest for "CCIDPA Friends" which gives several ot...

Re: WSP Primers in Austin?

In DFW area (CCIDPA) we have placed some combined orders with Powder Valley (http://www.powdervalleyinc.com/). There is a $20 Hazmat charge on each shipment up to 48 pounds of product. A case of 5000 primers (WSP, WSR, or WLP) weighs 5 pounds. So if you get an order together for 9 cases to maximize ...

Re: Anyone use a Dillon case cleaner?

I have the same case cleaner and read the same thing you did. I interpretted it as to not fill the unit with significant liquid. The Dillon polish is to use in the Dillon (and other) cleaners. They recommend, and I use, one capful when I put in fresh media. It seems to last until the media is nearly...

Thanks, phddan. I feel better about what I do. I tumble for about 15 minutes and use CCI or WSP primers - not Federal. It cleans off the case lube and any brass whiskers making case gauging MUCH quicker. Before I started doing this I would have to wipe out the case gauge every 10 or so rounds to kee...

I can't help with the DFWShooters forum or site, but I can recommend the Colin County IDPA site at http://www.ccidpa.org/ This is a great reference for new shooters and IDPA matches in general. Check out the "newcomers" section. Also some of the best classifier tips available. Great club, ...

Hi Ryan: Remember, I'm brand new to this and will be learning several steps behind you. I'll get my Dillon any day now and am setting up my bench this week. I'll be getting my first Bucket 'O Brass 9mm pretty soon. What have you heard that makes you filter out the brass you rejected? Do you go throu...
