I like your avatar too!Scott in Houston wrote:So a 22 year old father shouldn't be able to protect his family outside the house?Moby76065 wrote:My CHL instructor said we had to have a holster.
And yes, I think the age needs to be at least 25.
I guess he should not vote or serve in the military either... But he can.
What age is too old? 80?
Not to pick on you specifically, but this mind set bothers me. It's not about age. It's about maturity and there are some 30+ year olds who shouldn't carry, while many 18 year olds would be great to have armed in public.
When we head down that road of further restrictions, we run the risk of opening the flood gates to restricting what is a God-given right; the right to defend ourselves.

I would like to think so.Oldgringo wrote:Speaking of the state adding to the curriculum, A Texas CHL costs much more than does a CC permit/licenses in many reciprocating states. Are we smarter than the CCW licensees in other states because we've paid more for our Texas CHL?74novaman wrote: {snip}

But I don't think the state should add it to the curriculum.

Re: What Would You Do?
I agree, it would definitely be different if you knew the person. I probably wouldn't tell a stranger if they had spinach in their teeth.Topbuilder wrote:This may not apply to the scenario since I knew the person who was "exposed" but several years ago we were in a Asian restaurant in Atlanta. It was just the two of us we were seated at a table next to the buffet line. It was winter, I knew "Joe" carried. He was a friend of a friend.

If they didn't have a CHL that comment might get some very strange looks!RoyGBiv wrote:If somebody asked me, I'd say it was my insulin pump.
If I saw somebody else carrying, I'd be forced to make a judgment call. If I thought they were just a CHL, I'd say "your 2nd amendment is showing".

What Would You Do?
There is a thread about whether or not you should admit to carrying. What would you do or say if you saw someone who was exposing their handgun?
