The story stated that he was a former jailer for West Bend. Maybe he was wearing his old uniform. BTW, I assume you meant "slap leather". Unless you wanted to give him a shave.

John Herbert Currie, 34, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and impersonating a public servant. Allegedly, Currie impersonated a police officer and ordered a man to get on the ground and claiming he was under arrest.
