Even if you didn't need it directly after the crash, it would be nice if you and your passengers didn't get knocked in the head with it.psijac wrote:Unless you are Jack Bauer I don't think you will need a gun directly after getting into a car accident

I do not believe this is possible. The forces involved in an automobile collision are tremendous.doc540 wrote:This "Quick Draw" magnet is super powerful, and there's no way a compact pistol will fly loose even in an accident.

I am glad that you paid attention in school.TheBrit wrote:So, at school we all made non-magnetized metals magnetic by rubbing them in the same direction with a magnet.
So, using this magnet frequently, is it possible your gun could become magnetized, and could that magnetic charge then potentially cause problems. I carry in close proximity to where my credit cards sit in my wallet. I've accidentally wiped cards before with a magnetic field.
Is this a valid concern or should I wear the tinfoil hat and stop worrying

I would be more concerned about the slide, frame and magazines becoming slightly magnetized and attracting metal particles. The metal particles could stick and cause the gun to wear. I suppose if you cleaned it well, the particles would be wiped away. It's a novel idea, but I still prefer a holster of some kind.
Maybe the magnet is strong enough to hold onto a metal beltclip that is attached to a fabric holster?lrb111 wrote:A left handed holster, attached right where your magnet is, will work.
A pretty durable Uncle Mikes style fabric holster w/retention are still economical. and work well in a car.
