This is a CHL board, so mainly pistols are topics. Go to a Ford dealership, there will be Chevy's but only on the used lot and not plentiful.

I know I can buy one on gunsamerica. I like to buy locally when possible.

If I buy one in 1 week or in 2 years, it does not matter.

I have the Marlin 30-30. It is an excellent gun and shoots as well as I do, but not in the scope of my goal.

I do not expect to find one
Why do you not expect to find one? Captain Matt has already found one for you. What are we missing here? I know you originally said 30.06 but you didn't say that point was non-negotiable. The new .338 Marlin Express exceeds 30.06 ballistics by a small margin and retains the tubular magazine with 5+1 capabilities for less than 900.00 MSRP in stainless steel. Is price your hangup? The Browning BLR new in 30.06 with box magazine is under a $1000.00 MSRP. Why would you consider a 79 year old Winchester that is "new or like new" (is that really possible for anything less than a small fortune) from a total stranger? If 30.06 lever action is what you have to have, looks like the old Winchester or the Browning will have to be your choice.

Captain Matt wrote: I can think of the Winchester M1895 and the Browning BLR off the top of my head.
Production of the Winchester Model 1895 in 30.06 ceased after 1931. Beginning in 2001, Model 1895 rifles were again produced as limited editions but not in caliber 30.06.* Today's list prices for the Model 1895 in .405 Winchester begin just south of $1800 and go up from there.

You are correct. The Browning is available in 30.06 with box magazine. Don't know mag capacity for 30.06 but depending upon caliber magazines hold either 3 or 4 rounds.

Re: WTB 30-06 Lever Gun

This ain't no trade deal, but take a look at this: http://www.americanrifleman.org/rifles_leverAction.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Download .pdf file to read long article in American Rifleman. I don't know of any lever action chambered in 30.06, but this seems to be the equal and maybe then some. Don't know when it might show up on shelves.
