Re: Does a Cabela's Walk count?
One thing on the boots, you will have to really keep your pistol well oiled and clean as they did tend to rust carried daily, also be sure your socks come up over the pistol on your leg, bobed hammer spurs are a must or a sa. I carried a S&W 37 Airweight with a bobbed spur, a steel or stainless...

Re: Does a Cabela's Walk count?
Justin used to make "Trooper" boots, black only with a sewn "pocket/holster" fitting a small semi or J frame Smith, we got the at Milsltoe in Oak Cliff. They worked well especially with bobed hammer spurs or SA. Thank you for the tip on the Justin "Trooper" Boot. I'm g...

Re: Can a school override or give exceptions to the no-CC law?
Individuals can be authorized by the School Board under the authority of Sub chapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code, to lawfully carry a weapon on school premises under whatever regulations the Board chooses to put in place. The individual, according to AG opinion GA-1051 - April, 2014, would then...

Re: Can a school override or give exceptions to the no-CC law?
For what it's worth, after I explained the situation to my principal, he signed a letter I provided to him, that authorized me and the coach of our clay targets team to bring in a specified number of shotguns into the school for use in a gun safety course provided to each member of our clay targets...

Re: Can a school override or give exceptions to the no-CC law?
My wife teaches some evening classes in a local school building. The building is owned and operated by the local school district, and during the daytime has come alternative education classes for some local middle and high school students, as well as some adult ed classes (GED, ESL, etc.). So obvio...

Re: Can a school override or give exceptions to the no-CC law?
It would probably take permission from the superintendent or school board to CC into a school building, which is not likely to happen. Seems like you can remain in your vehicle in the parking lot and CC. Some schools have School Marshall programs with armed trained CHL personnel and others have gun ...

Re: School Board Training on 30.06 and 30.07
Maybe some schools, but definately not all, have such rules about weapons in vehicles on campus - I am assuming you are meaning for employees. Also after an experience I had about 2 years ago with a drug dog at school, I wouldn't worry much about a drug dog hitting on your vehicle because of a gun....

School Board Training on 30.06 and 30.07
I viewed a webinar yesterday led by the legal department of the Texas Association of School Boards. It was attended by large urban and small rural school district participants. The presentation was informative and covered the relevant codes for reference. One point that the presenter made on OC stru...

Good job TAM! I've been sharing the "good news" on gun ownership with the ladies I work with. Guns are just a tool and another insurance policy that protect me and my family! The Annoyed Man wrote:Hearts and minds, and all that. Thanks guys.
