Veteran renewal DD214
I am renewing and they want a copy of my DD214 again which I will submit. But can anyone explain to me the disconnect since I submitted it originally, and my LTC says veteran on it.

Re: Denied Rigth To Vote...For Carrying Pocket Knife
Yes, but 46.03 only prohibits carrying "firearm, illegal knife , club, or prohibited weapon in a courthouse. 46.01 doesn't define a pocket knife as an "illegal knife". 46.03 defines what is illegal. There is a difference between what is illegal throughout the state and what is prohib...

Re: NICS background check on myself?
I don't know why you would want it other than just for fun. As long as you have a valid LTC they shouldn't have to run another check on you when you are buying a gun. Big box stores will still run NICS check, even if you have LTC. Cabela's did not when I bought a PX4 last year. I was in and out in ...

Re: NICS background check on myself?
I was wondering if there is a way to get a NICS background check on my own? If not, I remember being asked if I wanted a copy of my NICS background check during the online LTC app..fingerprinting I think? Is there any way I can change that request and get a copy? I'm sure I have a clean record. It'...

Re: Disarmed by uninformed officer
Wow! This is not some subtle nuance in the law that should at all be confusing. So, either he is completely ignorant of the law, or he was abusing his authority. In any case, scary, and you should report it.

Re: Question on CHL
Nothing appears on my dps background check. I did find the record online with County clerk office. The exact wording is pre trial intervention. Any help? Whether or not you are considered "convicted" according to GC 411 of DWI, it appears that either the 5 years have elapsed or you receiv...

Re: Veteran / Senior Discount
Member 4 copy of the DD214 (I believe) shows whether your discharge was honorable or not, which is what they are after. If your DD214 shows that, then you should be good. As philbob stated, the government code doesn't mention DD214, it just says, "proof sufficient to the department." So yo...

Re: Holster carry in vehicle before CHL
I am in the waiting room with all of the other future CHL applicants. I am wearing my IWB holster with my weapon around the house to get comfortable with it. I know that I can carry my weapon in my vehicle. My question is " can I carry my weapon in my holster inside the vehicle as long as I re...

Re: Veteran / Senior Discount
I have 5 DD214's all issued prior to 1979. All of them are one short form and say either "Character of Service" or "Type of Transfer of Discharge," (depending on the date of the form) and all say "Honorable" in those blocks. I'm not sure when the "long form" ...

I believe it's 5 years after the final disposition of your case. I'm not sure if that is your court appearance or when you completed community service. Somebody with more knowledge than me please chime in.

Re: The Medical Advisory Board...Are you kidding me?
It's just the process you have to go through because you listed it on your application. And, no doubt, you will be approved once they review it. I'm interested to know if you'll even have to send them anything other than a statement from you.
Other than the above... you overthought the app

Re: Ted Cruz A Texas
I would vote for Kasich long before I would Trump. What chance do you think Kasich would have to be the nominee and win the general? Personally, I think Kasich would be an excellent nominee that I would vote for. He has a lot of experience in congress with national security issues, he's been an eff...
