Re: Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick attacks NRA and Supports expanded background checks

This country is to far gone. No amount of voting or talking will set it straight. It may delay the inevitable but it will be solved the old fashion way.

They are fans of themselves. They all get armed security so self defense is not really their concern. Their main concern is to keep their power and wealth. Unfortunately this means that many of them will ride the momentum if it helps them to secure their position of power in the end. All they really ever needed was an excuse and possible permission to weaken the average persons ability to take away what the elitist power structure values most, the ability to make the rules. Unfortunately fear, on the heals of mass shootings, and lack of foresight by people to understand what losing the ability to resist authoritarian rule means in the end, has helped pave the way for many of them to do what is in their own best interest.

He's in a different social and economic class than us. He's not the same as you and me. He doesn't live in our world.

If you believe that, I have ocean front property to sell you in Arizona.
This. A registry is the entire point. Not a single mass shooting other than maybe Odessa and we don't even know that for sure yet would have been prevented by a UBC. How does he not get this? I've heard him speak quite eloquently on gun rights. He seemed to get it. What changed? Why the sudden sell out? Does he think he's going to draw the anti's votes with this? Those people hate him with the heat of a white hot sun. This won't change that, it will only embolden them to demand more.

How does he not see this? What is going on?
Money and votes. That's what changed. I don't even get upset anymore when one of them turns. I've come to expect it.

Do you actually think they will fight and die for a cause?. Stop putting your hopes in someone who sees you as inferior. You are on your on.
Read this article about the signers of the Declaration of Independence. All 56 were wealthy and powerful men with LOTS to lose:

Yes they were. Those were different men in those days. I don't think we have those type of men anymore. If we do I wish they'd make them selves known. We need them. :patriot:

This sort of anti- wealth, anti- capitalism nonsense is nothing but socialist garbage. Go to Cuba if you want to live in a socialist paradise where everyone is equal and nobody has wealth.
Where in my post did I say was against wealth and capitalism? All I did was state the obvious. I'm middle class construction worker. I've got it better than most but not as good as some. I know and work for some wealthy people and I can guarantee you if it come to gun confiscation they would throw them.out the front door at the first sign of a leo. Quit putting your hopes in politicians with fat bank accounts. If they have some thing to lose by siding with you they will turn. Most of those people have no honor.
You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but you aren't going to continue your global attack on everyone you consider wealthy, at least not here on the Forum. You insult millions of people who contribute to the NRA and protection of the Second Amendment, based upon absolutely nothing other than your opinion.

Chas.
Didn't mean it as a global attack. Just from my experience neither politicians or the wealthy have much grit when things get tough. I'm sure there are exceptions.
