I built my two rifles out of spikes lowers/uppers and put them both together without any issues. One is a carbine and the other is a midlength both with adams arms pistons and malonited barrels. If you lived in the valley I would even let you use my tools which is just a vice, armorers wrench, roll pin starters, blocks and punches. Cheapest I'd go is Palmetto State Armory or CMMG for the mid $700s.
