Discovered limp wristing has an impact. My son tried a clipand gotan FTE. The range guy tried and got the same. Once he corrected you could have covered his group with a quater. My judgement is still out
God bless your patience!

Re: Kimber Solo Carry Range Report

Kimber is not a "custom manufacturer.". They extremely "off-the-rack" and mass produced with as much MIM possible.

Ed Brown, Wilson, STI come to mind when I think of a true custom maker.

My guess is that its because it was posted on the internet, a venue often used to express opinions...frequently those of the contrary nature.

I found I had to use the slide release with the Kimber to load the initial round; an annoyance but there is a school of thought that that's the standard process anyway and I've been know to have bad habits so I proceeded using the release.
While that may be faster for competition games, many working people advocate gripping the slide with your support hand, thumb pointing toward the body, and racking from there. That is a gross motor school, which is preferable once bullets start flying and your sympathetic nervous system activates (more info here). This also allows for greater torque using a push pull (push with weapon hand, pull with support (a useful tool too for women and children). Manipulating the slide release with your thumb is a fine motor skill, which deteriorate under an SNS activation.

I cannot consider any firearm which can only brought into battery after a reload via depressing the tiny slide release fit for defensive purposes.

Does it say 9mm or 9x19 or such on the slide & barrel? Or does it say "only 9mm ammo 124 grain or heavier from a specific set of manufacturers"?
This.

Re: Kimber Solo Carry Range Report

12 out of 50 failures with any factory ammo is unacceptable. The Kahr PM9 and Keltec 9 can run WWB fine. I no longer buy into the Kimber fanboy hype so their excuses won't work.
