Re: Got my first AR15, What do you think?
Yeah my comments regarding the Eotech were very much in jest. It's ford vs chevy if you will...some people will stake their claim and cling to it. They are both fine optics and great companies that support fighting americans all over. I just like to pick on Eotech owners because the dang thing is so trendy. When they had come out Aimpoints had been around forever.
Those of us that have optics are on our patrol rifles at work are about evenly split. I think the Eotechs have a bit better showing on our dept's tac team, however there are still some Aimpoints there too.

Re: Got my first AR15, What do you think?
Many in the tactical community would disagree with you. It is however, a very personal choice and I get that. Also - if I am ever in a gunfight and my optics go down, I doubt I'll have time to use a fine motor skill to flip some little iron sights. It has also been my experience that flip up sights are more prone to breaking. To each his own but I find fixed iron sights preferable, even when using an optic.jeeperbryan wrote: Regarding co-witnessing, I think it's over-rated and over-analyzed. If you use your BUIS for what their intended, then your optic has already gone down or lost batteries. In that case, you dont need to worry about co-witnessing. Just flip up your BUIS and keep shooting.

Re: Got my first AR15, What do you think?
Actually, in all honesty - if you choose to keep that second class optic on a such a beautiful gun you will need one of these to set it up properly:
![Image](http://stores.homestead.com/Laruetactical/catalog/LT-110_small.JPG)
It is a Larue Tactical LT-110 Quick Disconnect mount, and it will raise the eotech up where the irons co-witness in the bottom 1/3rd of the optic. This seems to be ideal IMO as you get used to "seperate" sight pictures. If you get used to looking through the irons and eotech, when you get into a gunfight and your eotech goes down, you will see a different sight picture than you are used to and may take an extra second. I like having seperate sight pictures for irons and red dot/holo sights.
Again, just my opinion.
I think this is your best bet though:

Aimpoint Comp ML3 in a Larue M68 mount.
Also - what sling are you using - looks like a one point? I like the magpul and the Tactical Tailor but there are many great brands.
And another (weighted) question - what gun case did you get? I have a Tactical Tailor on order, but that great gun needs a great gun case.

Re: Got my first AR15, What do you think?
I about peed my pants at this comment. Yes - they are fellow nosebleed top tier gun maker along with my favorite company, LMT. They both have great snob appeal - who can put a price on that!? You have purchased a great gun, at a great price IMO. Is that an H&K mag? If so, don't worry about needing a magpul P-mag - while they look cooler the H&K's are great mags too.rocketexas wrote:Has anyone heard of the "Noveske Firearms N4 Rifle"?"
If you sell the surefire let me know. I'm looking for a full size LED tac light right now. Can't decide.
Furthermore, since you're soliciting opinions - ditch the EOTECH and get a real optic like an Aimpoint. Just sayin
