No doubt I would have been given a ticket for the flaps and disturbing the peace with my looks.
I'd just go for the arrest. Gotta make numbers and get that revenue.
(in jest).

Return to “probable cause to pull me over......”

Maybe you have a cute wife?handog wrote:*My wife was pulled over four times last year while driving my dually. Each time she was given a warning for no mud flaps. What’s interesting is that I have never been pulled over for flaps. Yes, they’re on now.
Or a visual estimate. Hard to pace an oncoming vehicle.chabouk wrote:Reasonable suspicion would be reason enough to measure speed by pacing (actually, they don't even need to meet that standard in order to pace you, since they can drive whatever speed they wish)
The database is too unreliable on the info. Our CA said his office would no longer take cases where the only reason for stop was unconfirmed insurance on the LP return. With me, the DB can save you if you forgot your proof of insurance - however, I still try and see an actual valid copy because of issues in the DB. If you don't have it, but it shows to be confirmed on your LP then I'll cut a break and give the benifit of the doubt.puma guy wrote:It's the government, don't ask silly questions!sjfcontrol wrote:ReAlly?? If they know if the car is insured, then why do I need to send in proof of insurance when I renew the registration?blackdog8200 wrote:FYI My wife was pulled over this weekend. She was fit to be tied since it was in a school zone and she wasn't speeding. Turns out it wasn't for speeding but for no insurance.
She drives a lease car provided by her employer (out of state) and it turns out the insurance company didn't fax or file the information with the state of Texas. The officer ran her plates in the zone and pulled her over. He looked at her card and everything was fine but he told her to get the company to send over the info to Texas or it could happen again.
No insurance = pulled over.
Might be worth a call to your agent to make sure they don't cause an unnecessary LEO encounter IMHO.
Be safe and be careful.
