Do they search vehicles? How would they know otherwise?

Only gov't place I've seen vehicle searches are military bases and some federal installations.

I don't advocate breaking the rules if an ISD can restrict weapons in vehicles. Part of me thinks that they cannot prohibit it, but IANAL.
