Well said. I dug into his background, it's a little fishy at best. But no reason to defame a man because of his opinions.Charles L. Cotton wrote:I've watched enough of his videos to know he is serious about all of his ill-conceived comments and opinions. Anyone who starts a video with a kindergarten-level intro pretty much telegraphs his maturity level. I don't know his background, but I suspect he has absolutely no experience from which to draw when expressing his conclusions.
His only claim to fame is under his own roof where he is truly a "legend in his own mind."

Yes sir, this is my point.karder wrote:I saw one of his videos and thought it was satire. I tried another video and couldn't tell. That was enough for me. Unfortunately he seems to get a lot of views. If knowledgeable people watch him for laughs, no harm done, but I am sure there are plenty of novices out there taking his nonsense seriously.

Re: Once again Yankee marshal strikes
The thing is, the bad information on the channel is unlimited. This is but a tip of the iceberg. There are reasons I don't use the 45. You've mentioned some. This guy is a total nutjob. He has admitted to playing a chacter. I've looked into his background, the stuff he claims is false. Its bad information all around. Plus hes a liberal. It's sad because an average of 30k gun users take his advice seriously.Acronym Esq wrote:I think you guys got trolled. You got lost joking about prostates, Nixon, and windshields. IMHO, he made good points about .45:Soap wrote:I am convinced this channel is satire. The bad information on it is unlimited. I don't even shoot 45 but he says it bounces off car doors and windshields. I know for a fact that's false.I think he could have also mentioned that 45 is expensive and has a greater recoil. Lucky Gunner has a great ballistics test page that makes a solid case that modern ammunition can be tuned to give you any performance you want. If caliber doesn't matter, then other characteristics become more important like gun size, weight, capacity, recoil, controls, and color.
- Lowest capacity per gun size
- Generally larger/heavier gun
- Over penetration tendencies
- Other modern calibers have adequate penetration
I just spent an entire day teaching two new pistol shooters. After ground school, they shot 7 very different semi-automatics ranging from .32-.45. I gave them enough instruction and experience to make their own informed decision. When it came time for them to buy, they didn't even consider the .45. Of course, they decided what most other new pistol owners do: Glock 19 (nothing great, but everything pretty good).
I like my .45. It's "second kind of cool" (just makes me happy). Objectively, I can see it's short comings tho. I have to agree with Yankee Marshal that .45 isn't the best defensive handgun round. I enjoy laughing at him when he claims to be an agent in the matrix dodging bullets.

His arguments are the worst in those live chats. I think the guy just likes to go against the grain. It makes him money.

Re: Once again Yankee marshal strikes
This is coming from a guy who shoots a revolver. A 357 out of a 2 inch barrel. Then he convinced himself a revolver in 40 caliber is better with a longer barrel. Even though he previvously states semi auto calibers in revolvers is useless. The guy is a mess and he reaches so many people.Soccerdad1995 wrote: I am voting for satire. I mean, he can't seriously be advocating for the .380 as a better self defense round than the .45, can he?

Once again Yankee marshal strikes
I am convinced this channel is satire. The bad information on it is unlimited. I don't even shoot 45 but he says it bounces off car doors and windshields. I know for a fact that's false. This guy constantly contradicts himself as well.
