Re: D.O.T vehicles

I've been in the transportation safety field for over 20 years and this urban myth was around a lot longer than me. All DOT vehicles (>10,001 lbs) are covered by CFR 49 Parts 100 through 999. The first section 100-200 covers HAZMAT, second 300 - 399 covers the operation of motor vehicles, the last 4...

Re: NRA begins filing lawsuits againt San Fran and Chicago!!

Again: How many would own a short shotgun for home, vehicle, or business defense if the cost of the $200 tax was not equal to or greater than a $200 shotgun? I would, but only if I could get it without telling the feds that I got it (i.e., from a private party transaction). I don't trust the govern...

Re: Need a good gunsmith in the DFW area

Don't we all. I too am in need of someone good to replace the one who hurt himself and won;t return phone calls. Gander Mountain in Sherman has a new guy. He's young, but seems to know a ton! He threaded a barrel for me, did an great job at a reasonable price. Last I remember his e-mail was GM408GS...

Re: License Revocation / Eligibility for Renewal

Thanks to everyone for the feedback. This was a life changing experience for me. The lesser part being the actual confrontation, the more significant and painfull part being the legal process. This event occurred in Montgomery County and the arresting department was the Constables Office. I've had ...

Re: Taste of Texas Posted

I work for a major carrier and "no where" is there any written requirements to force the posting of "any sign." Check out the Texas Department of Insurance, no where does it state that an insurance company has this right. The short of it is, business owners of all types generally...

His age maybe, he's only 24 so he might not have had enough range time. On a side note, did you see the home? I'm not sure what it was like for the rest of you but at 24, I was still paying of school loans to afford a house like he had.

Re: Do you secure your front door in a special way?

24-year-old Parkdale Avenue man was shot this morning when he answered a knock on his door and was attacked by two to three men, Buffalo police reported. Joseph Watkins was taken to Erie County Medical Center, where he was listed in fair condition at mid-morning. Initial reports indicated that he m...

Re: Impatient City Commissioner Pulls Gun In Checkout Line

I'm amazed at the number of people who want to go to the gun as their first choice; especially, over a verbal threat.

Another Darwin potential

When will they ever learn: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22681900/ KOKOMO, Ind. - Oh, shoot! A man accidentally shot himself in the groin as he was robbing a convenience store Tuesday, police said. A clerk told police a man carrying a semiautomatic handgun entered the Village Pantry demanding cash and...

Re: suppressors

I couldn’t agree more with you Liberty…there are some real issues with subsonic depending on the weapon you choose. You missed my second post on "Hollywood" quiet, which most of us are not going for, we just want hearing safe and neighbor friendly. In any event, you are absolutely, bo...

:iagree: but if you want it as close to "Hollywood" quiet as possible, it's the only way other than firing wet.

Re: suppressors

I've been kicking around the idea of getting a suppressor for .223 for coyote hunting. I've heard that using a suppressor on coyotes increases your success and is a blast! (no pun intended) Does anyone else here have a suppressor for anything? It's kind of a hastle to get one. I think it would be f...

Re: suppressors

I would actually like to do the living trust thing. I've read a lot of posts in different forums and was once referred to a lawyer's web site in Austin or SA that claims to be knowledgeable about setting up trusts for this purpose. But I will remain unconvinced until someone can show me where this ...

You mean a tax stamp not FFL. I have a TAC 65 that will work on this, maybe we can hook-up some time to try it out.
