Re: Which is easier to Maintain, a Mini-14 or an AR15
Thinking about buying either a Ruger Mini-14 or some AR15 clone for home protection ("up close and personal" out to about 300 yds). In general, which is easier to maintain, including disassembly and reassembly? Also, I understand that, because of twist rate of the Mini-14 (1 in 9), it pro...

My New Carrier Revolver and an Addition to my Gun Bench
Howdy, Folks, Hope everybody is well. Yesterday I picked up my new carry revolver from one of my local FFL's. It is a Ruger LCR six-shot revolver in .327 magnum. It has good ballistics compared to the .38 special rounds I had been carrying before. I fired a 100 grain Gold Dot hollow-point round thro...

Re: EDC flashlight
A first report on the Streamlight ProTac 1L-1AA, It came yesterday and it arrived in perfect condition. Midway boxed it very well. It has 3 modes, high, strobe, and low. One click for high, two for strobe, and three for low. I didn't like that so did the 10 tap reprogram and now it is a high only. ...

Re: EDC flashlight
I have several Streamlight Pro-Tac flashlights. Recommend them highly. You can find them over on Amazon.

Rossi R95 Lever-Action
Today I picked up a Rossi R95 lever-action in 30-30 at my local gun store. I think it is based off the Marlin design. Got it mainly for sentimental reasons as the first deer I shot when I was 15 was with my dad's 30-30 which was later stolen out of his house when I was off to college. Did not have a...

I heard Whitmire won. Remember, Lee is the one who infamously said the AR15 shoots 50 caliber bullets and is as heavy as 10 moving boxes.

Re: Please Folks---Always Follow Firearm Safety Rules!
At least two rules were violated here. First, he pointed a rifle at somebody--don't do that. Second, he dropped the mag but failed to rack the slide/charging handle. There was a live round in the chamber. Drop the mag--rack the slide--twice--then visually check the chamber and breech for any rounds....

Re: TSA Approved Lock or Non-TSA Approved Lock?
Howdy, folks. I wanted to give you an update on my flying experience with my little Ruger LCR .38 Special Plus P Revolver. My first flight was from Midland to Denver. The second flight was back home from Denver to Midland. Both on Southwest Airlines. The flight from Midland to Denver. I wheeled my b...

TSA Approved Lock or Non-TSA Approved Lock?
What type of lock do you guys recommend for your case when flying?
and,
Most of the cases I see have slots for two locks---should you use two locks or is one lock sufficient?
I bought an Eylar case and it should get here in a few days.
Thanks!

Re: New Forms
Well, today I went to my local FFL and purchased a new shotgun. They put the usual form in front of me to fill out. Immediately I recognized it as a new form. I asked the employee when did you guys get these in? He said oh, they dropped them off a coupla months ago. Anyway, going down the list and ...

Basic Marksmanship Course on Youtube (Army)
Soon I will be 70 years old but always consider myself a lifetime student. I ran across this series today on Youtube and it is a basic introduction to marksmanship as taught by an Army instructor. I immediately noticed a flaw in my aiming--I shoot left-handed and was mis-aligning my head by leaning ...
