Re: DFW West/Southwest Quadrant Breakfast
It’s my nephew’s third birthday Saturday, we’re going to be celebrating early in the day with swimming and grilling before it gets too hot for all the kiddos’ sake. Were it not for that I’d meet you guys there.

Re: DFW West/Southwest Quadrant Breakfast
He will be in attendance yet again. Seems my girls take after their mother, that is to say come Saturday morning they’re all very willing and able to sleep till 9am if given the opportunity. Gives he and I a chance at some father-son time, so I don’t mind a bit.surprise_i'm_armed wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 9:08 pm SigM4: yes, technically you got me there. 1/18/20 is correct.
We'd all get a kick out of you bringing your young prince with you. Mrs.Blackhorse1 is partial to his type. :-)

See y’all there.

Alright, who’s in for the Arlington Rudy’s breakfast this Saturday 1/18? Looking like I should make this one.

Re: DFW West/Southwest Quadrant Breakfast
As follow up to all who attended, this was our birthday boy a few hours after breakfast enjoying his birthday cupcake.surprise_i'm_armed wrote: ↑Sun Dec 22, 2019 3:50 pm Well, this past Saturday, 12/21/19, we had a good turnout for breakfast: Blackhorse1, diesel42, jusme, nano, our non-forum Gideon friend, SigM4 and Baby Boy SigM4, SIA, and strogg. So we had 8 adults. It was a special day for Baby Boy SigM4 since it was his 1st birthday.
A good time was had by all. Next week is the "Way Out West" breakfast in Hudson Oaks (between Willow Park and Weatherford in Parker County). We hope to have a good crowd at Manny's Cafe next week as well.
Merry Christmas to all from the North Texas breakfast crowd!!

Re: DFW West/Southwest Quadrant Breakfast
Well heck I’m about 3 minutes away from David’s, guess I’ll see everyone there again.Excaliber wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2019 2:42 pm I found a new open carry friendly breakfast cafe for our western division meetings:
Manny's Cafe
4019 Fort Worth Hwy
Hudson Oaks, TX 76087
It's a small cafe located in the David's Stove Shop building on the north side of westbound I20 at Mikus Road. There is minimal signage for the cafe, so look for David's Stove Shop which is easy to spot. The cafe entrance faces the road near the west end of the building by the windmill displays. (It can also be reached by going through the main stove shop entrance when that opens at 9 AM.) The cafe opens at 7:00. Staff advised they would be glad to have us and open carry is not an issue with them. It's also a bit closer for the folks coming from the main DFW area.
From I20 west, take Exit 415. It is just past the first traffic light (Mikus Road) on the right.
From I20 east, take Exit 415 and make a left at the light at Mikus Road, go under the highway, and turn left onto the westbound service road.
Our next west division breakfast is scheduled for June 15. Would you folks like to give this location a try?
Also saw the new Rudy’s going in at 1187 in Burleson. We just need one out here west now.

Re: DFW West/Southwest Quadrant Breakfast
Sorry have missed yet another breakfast, especially being right down the road from me. Was hoping to wake up and make the couple mile drive out there this morning but my 2 month-old son had ideas other than sleeping last night...the joys of parenthood. Glad the new location worked out and hopefully I can make a breakfast again soon.

Re: DFW West/Southwest Quadrant Breakfast
As do I. While Cracker Barrel might not be as accomodating/easy as Rudy’s it’s much closer for me (~10 mins). Not that Arlington is a killer drive, but with a 1 month old at home anything I can do to stay close by is a plus, at least until he’s older.

I transferred a gun to a buyer through them a while back but didn’t check out their range.crazy2medic wrote: ↑Sun Jan 20, 2019 4:47 pmI concur, good place to shoot, I like the place!Excaliber wrote: ↑Sun Jan 20, 2019 11:20 amYes - about 10 minutes from Weatherford:Bitter Clinger wrote: ↑Sun Jan 20, 2019 9:39 amI have no objections to driving 70 miles one way to meet up, but seems as though we should schedule some range time afterward. Got any good places for us to get some training in afterward?Excaliber wrote: ↑Sun Jan 20, 2019 8:46 amI've got a couple other places on 180 and I20 just west of Weatherford to check out. I'll get it done in the next couple weeks in between business travel trips.SigM4 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 19, 2019 10:17 pm What about Whistle Hills Cafe on the square? Haven’t been there since it was Weatherford Cafe (wife loved the banana pancakes). Only problem again is the size and hogging a couple tables during morning rush.
That’s it, we need to convince Rudy’s to open up a spot in Weatherford. Though I have heard Hard 8 BBQ is coming to Hudson Oaks. Wonder if they do breakfast?

Outdoor covered ranges for rifle and pistol.
Rifle to 300 yrds.
Friendly management too.
I’m spoiled with my private club anyway.

Re: DFW West/Southwest Quadrant Breakfast
Poor poor Bitter Clinger. Much prettier part of WY than the area we lived in up there.
As much as I thought I'd make this month's meeting, I'm going to be a no-show. Youngest daughter's 2nd birthday party was scheduled for Saturday. As a much as I like you guys these little girls have daddy's heart.

Re: DFW West/Southwest Quadrant Breakfast
Sorry to have missed another one, but this summer has been busy. Looking forward to this fall for a number of reasons, not the least of which is cooler weather, but also because I should have more availability to make these more regularly again.
Good for you SIA. In all the times meeting there I’ve been surprised that we’ve (as a group or individually) ever been approached by employees with questions.

doesn't have any legal problems, but he didn't seem to have any knowledge as to how to proceed
towards his intended goal.
