Re: Driving and Crossing State Lines
Thank you everyone for your inputs. :thumbs2: I didn't know about the Indian Reservations having rules. Although I wasn't planning to stop in those areas, I know now to be careful and adjust in the case that I do have to. Also, I will go through and review the gun laws from both states again before...

Driving and Crossing State Lines
So after 5 long but short years in the Marine Corps, I'm finally picking up my DD-214 on Friday and making the drive with my family back home to good ol' Texas for the last time to stay for good! Had my CHL for a little over a year and still new at this, since I can't carry in Commiefornia. I have o...

Re: How much longer do you reckon?
Hello! Welcome to the forum! Yes, depending if everything goes smoothly, and on your background, the wait time is averaging about 3-4 weeks for plastic in hand. However for myself it took longer. You did right by calling DPS. After everyone else, that submitted around the same time as me, was gettin...

Re: The Norm For New CHLers?
Thanks everyone! That's all great advice. Right now I'm using a leather DeSantis IWB holster...and it has gotten better with time. So far a good holster. I guess it's taking its shape. Maybe just a little longer to finally sit right in. I do however need to invest in a good belt. Any suggestions?

The Norm For New CHLers?
So I've had my CHL for about 5 days. I can't help but always feel that I'm printing or that someone can see my weapon through my shirt. Is that normal for a noob like myself? Also, I'm still getting used to the feeling of the weapon with my IWB holster so I catch myself always adjusting myself for c...

Re: Time Seems to Drag!
So finally an update...after getting told that my info had just been found and forwarded, and bugging them over the phone for 2 more weeks. I called today and they said my license was issued yesterday and I should see it in the mail in about 10 days. I know they say that just to allow time for getti...

Re: Time Seems to Drag!
No...just waiting. Like I said, they just "found" my paperwork so they were just gonna look at it and told me to give it a week for a status change.

Re: Time Seems to Drag!
So I called today...Asked for status and was asked if I sent in my supporting documents (I.e. military ID, LES, CHL 100) what the heck? YES I DID!!! I told them that I had sent in my supporting documents via email and received a confirmation of receipt on 23 Jun. Spent 5 mins on hold because they co...

You should get it soon....Hopefully me as well. People with similar timelines are already getting them in the mail so my fingers are crossed for something in the next day or so!

Re: Processing Pains
Update I called and I spoke to a representative that has told me I have been approved and will be receiving license in 7 to 10 days. Nice! :clapping: I think you were only a day ahead of me timeline wise....so that means I should be there too! I'm going to call tomorrow to see what they tell me!

Re: G2R R.I.P. Ammunition...Thoughts?
Thanks everyone! Got some great feedback. I just came across this and wanted to see what everyone's thoughts were. And I agree with you all. Plus I did see pricing and it's pretty ridiculous!

G2R R.I.P. Ammunition...Thoughts?
So does anyone have any experience with this ammunition? Thinking about this instead of regular hollow points for self defense. I have seen a few videos and looked up a lot of info but want to see if anyone has ever used it and what you guys think? Is it truly "The last round you will ever need...
