Got my interest up. Is it new? I don't find it in Kimber's catalog or website.

Full-size 1911? Do you have any specs on it? It seems it's got to be wider.

holds 12+1 in 45 acp. 4 inch regular slide. about 1/4" thicker in the grip but can be concealed pretty easy.

As far as capacity over caliber, 12+1 in .45ACP? The Kimber BP ten conceals fine IWB or OWB with an untucked shirt. 2 spare mags = 37rds of 45.

The largest police department, the NYPD, carries 9mm Glocks with GD 124-gr +p ammo. They are happy with the results. They have no plans to change.
I would be willing to bet that stopping power was not the overriding concern. I say price and service was their concern. Possibly extremely simple manual of arms as well.

I assumed we only meant inthe 1911 platform. The 460 Rowland actually uses a 230g FMJ .45 bullet. At least that what my load data has.

I beg to differ. 1911 platform in .460 Rowland and .50GI.
