Re: OC Passed, hmmm. a lot to learn now?
So far from what I've read it doesn't get any more specific than shoulder holster and belt holster. Pretty straight forward as far as I can tell. It doesn't say the belt has to be around your waist either. So I guess you could open carry a ankle holster as long as it was attached using a belt. I think if using reason one would assume a belt goes around your waist. I think the important part is it has to be in a holster. No lanyard carry allowed.

Re: OC Passed, hmmm. a lot to learn now?
You can bet there will be much discussion on the do's and don'ts of open carry. I think the law is written so it is very easy to read and understand. They tried to make special training and education for gun retention when open carrying. It didn't go anywhere. I think it's definitely something you should think about. I personally use retention holsters for all of my guns. Thumb breaks mostly. Not because I'm afraid someone will come up behind me and grab it but I don't want it to fall out onto the ground. Anti-grabbing is second concern. There will be arguments for and against both you can be sure. Safety and common sense should be your guide. Any additional training is a good thing. As most of us have heard many times. Practice, practice, practice!

Wouldn't it be funny if Patrick didn't even know where the bill was going next? Aren't they still in session tonight?

I'm just going by what the website bill stages says. It says passed by Senate stage 5. Stage 6 is Governors desk. If it does go to house I don't believe there will be a problem since it basically already passed there. The added Senate amendment is virtually the same.Taypo wrote:Patrick just posted that it's going back to the House
