Re: SB11 & HB910 This week....
I just noticed that they sent HB 910 and SB11 to the Governor today. Wonder why they waited so long on HB 910?

The point of order is respectfully grasping at straws.

He's obviously confused about gun free zones. He said it doesn't make sense. He doesn't make sense.

Re: SB11 & HB910 This week....
I'm thinking maybe he would rather do it without drawing any more attention to it than has already happened. Why give the media more reasons to put down Texas. I don't see Gov. Abbott as a spit in your eye kind of guy. Could be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time.Charles L. Cotton wrote:It depends on whether Gov. Abbott wants to spit in Bloomberg's eye. If he does, then it will be a public signing with great fanfare. (That's my preference.) He could also sign it in private whenever he wishes.Oldgringo wrote:So, when does the signing take place and will it be televised?

Re: SB11 & HB910 This week....
HB 910 is on the Eligible for Consideration calender for today. That's what they are working on now is that calender.
They seem to be going through this list quickly. Obviously not going by calender times. These were eligible two days ago so maybe they are catching up.

I think Huffines just wanted his name on it. That way he can take some credit for it when campaigning. Politics anyone!SewTexas wrote:3 words? wow, last night they were saying maybe a letter, ie, the typo. to me 3 words should have easily been caught, that's not a typo.

Re: SB11 & HB910 This week....
Did the difference in wording make the bill better or worse? If it makes it better then great. It doesn't matter anyway. If the governor signs, it doesn't become law until January of next year regardless. So as I see it there's no big hurry. Just kidding! It will be great to get this finalized for sure.
I wonder how many will try and open carry before January because they heard the bill passed? This Senate passage yesterday didn't even make the front page in my local paper. It is a liberal rag for the most part, so maybe they don't want folks to know the Dems lost another one.

I guess it's all irrelevant now unless you have to vote for him and need to consider his record.

He voted for the amendment because he knew the bill would pass and he didn't want any profiling of blacks by law enforcement.
