Are you sure, really sure you want to give the Federal Government the ability to regulate the carrying of arms. Remember, virtually ALL federal property is a gun free zone, regardless of party in power. I would certainly encourage the states to get together on this, as previously mentioned Texas can push this along by suspending unilateral agreements if the state refuses to propose a pathway to a bilateral agreement. This will not happen, because in the end, all the politicians protect their own interests first, not the peoples.

By willingly giving the Feds jurisdiction over this, you essentially lose your rights, states rights.
