If this is indeed the case, if he was "issued" some pot-smoking room mates by the university, then I'll change my advice to "go blow the whistle on these clowns now." If he can't leave, make them leave.TexasJohnBoy wrote:
If this is the kind of apartment complex I think it is, he may not have had any say in the room mates. You lease the room from the complex; each apartment has multiple bedrooms in an apartment and a shared common space; the complex just puts people in the rooms randomly uless you ask for your room mates specifically.
I lived in one of these kind of units when I was a freshman. I didn't live in one again after that.

Not having a gun with you if you get busted will be better than having it with you if you are busted, but if you are busted you are still in serious trouble.MAGAManofATX wrote:I already said that leaving my apartment is not an option at this time. What is everyone's thoughts on locking my gun in my car when I am not carrying?

Re: Guns + Roommates using Marijuana
LTC/Gun or not, you are living in a high-risk situation. I understand the intensity of maintaining focus on school and the disruption moving would cause, but it is the only safe option. I'm not a cop, but I doubt the Austin police go out of their way to ferret out people smoking pot in their apartments, but if anything else happens to bring attention to your room mates -- like they are getting into other drugs, neighbors complain, there's a break-in at your apartment, whatever -- it is very like to splash on you regardless of your abstinence.
The only real answers that I see are find new living accommodations or hope your luck holds out thru the end of the semester.
